Is there a deposits insurance in Switzerland? Do you have a Swiss FDIC?

Your deposits are safer in a Swiss bank than in most banks in the world. Here's why:

1. Swiss banks don't go bankrupt
Swiss banks have some of the strongest balance sheets in the world. They are regulated by the Swiss Federal Banking commission, the federal watchdog, which enforces very strict rules.

2. Swiss banks have deposit insurance
Deposits on a Swiss bank account are guaranteed by a collective organisation financed by the banks. The limit is of CHF 100'000 per account holder (equivalent to $90,000 or EUR 68,000 or £63,000). It also protects non-Swiss residents who have accounts in Switzerland. It also covers deposits on foreign currencies, up to the equivalent of CHF 100'000. If a client has several acccounts in the same bank, the global limit is CHF 100'000. If a client has several accounts in different banks, the limit is CHF 100'000 per bank. All banks we work with are members of this organisation.

3. There is unlimited state deposit insurance for the Swiss cantonal account
Want even more insurance? No problem. If you can abide by the strict minimum balance policy of the Swiss cantonal bank account, this account comes with 100% deposit insurance offered by one of the wealthiest cantons in Switzerland. Infinitely better than US FDIC, this unlimited state guarantee covers all your deposit.

Please consider that these guarantees cover the money you have on deposit with the bank in case of insolvency. They do not cover the fluctuations in value of the investments you do through your account such as buying stocks, bonds, foreign currencies, precious metals, etc…
